Kampala district, Central Region of
Uganda as for the last 20 years suffered
from AIDS scourge which has led to low level of livelihood/incomes maturation,
high mortality rate of stress school dropouts among others. The level of education
in the region is at present very low standards of living. This is mostly
affecting children orphaned by HIV/AIDS, hence dropping out of school or not
enrolling at all especially on educational and health needs of orphans, the
problems of orphans in this region are worsening even further. Therefore, this
Organization is intended to remedy the problems of orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) in
its operation areas by enabling them access educational needs especially the
ones which will make them become self reliant in the near future.
Smiling Child Ministries - Uganda has
discovered a problem of Orphans and Vulnerable Children's denial of education at the expense of those with
their parents yet they would have loved to go to school. In such a situation
smiling Child Ministries-Uganda encourages the orphans (Young People) who may be distressed
and look helpless.
